It doesn’t take a Hollywood spy chase for you to be followed. It can happen on the walk home, in a parking garage, or during your daily commute — and most people don’t realize it until it’s too late.
Early detection is the difference between staying in control and being caught off guard.

Sign 1 – Repeated Sightings
You notice the same person, car, or bike appearing more than once in different locations along your route — especially if they appear at points where your path changes unexpectedly.
Sign 2 – Mirroring Your Movements
They match your walking speed, slow when you slow, and adjust their pace when you turn or pause. This mirroring is a strong indicator they’re focused on you.
Sign 3 – Lingering at Decision Points
They hesitate or wait when you stop at crosswalks, store entrances, or other choke points, maintaining visual contact without overt interaction.
What to Do (Baseline Response)
Change Direction – Make a casual, unplanned turn down a side street or into a store.
Increase Distance – Use well-lit, busy areas, not isolated shortcuts.
Go to a Safe Point – Head to a police station, public building, or security-patrolled area.
Call Someone – Keep them on the line and state your location clearly.
💡 Instructor’s Note:Most people hesitate because they don’t want to “overreact.” In reality, trusting your instincts early is your best protection.
